Channel Orange – Frank Ocean

11 Jul

So many things running through my head right now. Yes, I just did a post about Frank when I myself champion variety. Yes, Channel Orange was scheduled for a later release, and yes, I have to learn many pointless things for my British Citizenship test (including that Welsh is most widely spoken in Wales. Who would have thought?). But just please….

Sweet Life – Frank Ocean

7 Jul

World, let it be known that I love Frank Ocean. The singer has been in the limelight recently after a post on his Tumblr that appeared to tell of a summertime romance with another guy caused the world to label him as gay or bisexual. Fear not, Frank. In the words of Celine Dion, I will always love youuuuuuuuu…

Pyramid Lake – Hiatus

29 Jun

Recently, I have been missing this man’s music in my life. I absolutely loved his Ghost Notes EP. Hiatus has a knack for blending heart-wrenching melodies with softly profound backings that when combined form something truly incredible. I urge you to listen to his latest offering after the jump.

Hurricane – MS MR

30 May

I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve fallen in love with anything that has female vocals, so when I heard this I was suitably amped that my female tune drought had come to an end. This has been on repeat for the last twenty minutes and it’s just not getting any worse. If you knew me in real life I would give you a serious look and tell you to listen to this. Because we’re in the internet world, all I can do is tell you that your life will be better if you do, and that you can send me a nice thank you message if you do enjoy it. “Welcome to the inner workings of my mind…”

Orifice Origami – Reptar

25 Apr

16 pages of English notes. “Holy crap!” I hear you yell from behind your computer screen. Yep, that’s a lot of notes to do in one night. You are perhaps, fortunate that my procrastination has reached the stage where I will provide you with new music, before I go elsewhere in search of thrills on this beautiful internet. Bine – Arapaima

17 Apr

Sometimes on this blog, we give you underground music. Sometimes it’s so underground that we can barely find a picture even relating to the artist. Sometimes it’s SO underground that we can’t find a picture relating to the artist. Ladies and gentleman, today the latter applies. Indeed, neither the three topless individuals nor the worryingly large fish have brought you the song I am here to introduce you to today. Continue reading

Stay Useless – Cloud Nothings

20 Mar

Here’s a cool little number that I heard over the weekend and thought you might like to hear. Cloud Nothings are a four-piece indie band from Cleveland, Ohio that starting playing music as a light hearted way to amuse themselves between college classes. Needless to say, it got even more amusing when the world realised how talented they were and their music started getting more and more recognition.

Sparkly – Young Magic

27 Feb

This week has been a tough week. Getting back to school is never fun but despite getting back to the ever-present mountain of homework that perpetually hangs above my head, I managed to stumble across a gem of a song with an amazing piece of album art!

Born to Die – Lana Del Rey (Hackman Remix)

16 Feb

So I know on this blog we’ve kind of been going Lana Del C-Rey-zy (that’s why you come here: for the quite frankly world class puns), but having spent the last couple of days in Paris and therefore not being able to write, I’ve decided to charm your ears with this nice little remix of such a big song.

Fill Me In – Craig David

7 Feb

It makes me awfully sad to think that Craig David has been forgotten. I remember his debut, Born To Do It, and thinking it was quite simply off the charts (it wasn’t. This song got to Number 15 in the USA and this album went platinum).
