30 Jul

Here’s an awesome awesome awesome (that’s right) remix of Miami Horror’s already brilliant song Holidays. Cassian joined in and made this one an excellent summer jam. I recommend this on a long car journey or road trip. It will definitely make the time pass faster and put you in an great mood:

Hope you’re all having a great summer!

Miami Horror - Moon Theory

So Miami Horror aren’t particularly new (formed in 2007) and neither is their latest single “Moon Theory”(released earlier this year), but with their first album being released a little later this year and their unique blend of electro-pop perfect for a summer sound they’re a perfect place to start.

For a name like Miami Horror you would be forgiven in guessing they came from the US but instead they hail from Melbourne, Australia. Formed by Benjamin Plant they started to make waves early on with remixes such as Stardust’s “Music Sounds Better With You” and Tegan and Sara’s “Walking with a Ghost” and a number of collaborations with other aussie artists and acts. these all made waves on various music blogs, but there was no really major break through until 2009 and their single “Sometimes”, they went on to support Lily Allen and started work on their album for 2010. They are currently on tour in australia promoting their upcoming album, and the latest of their creations “I Look To You” featuring Kimbra had its first play on the radio on 27th of July. The band currently comprises of Benjamin Plant, Josh Moriarty, Aaron Shanahan, Daniel Whitechurch on live sets but the main driving force for this act is Benjamin Plant.

“Moon Theory”:

“Moon Theory” was released on the 16th of April 2010 and is a track that can be seen as drawing on abstract and lucid electro backgrounds. While not overly complex in its genre it fuses the a clear repeating beat with several bouncy tunes over the top and some catchy lyrics. while the complaints on this track will be on its repetitive lyrics and relative musical simplicity it is not be underestimated as a great tune. the track only strengthens my belief that miami horror is an up and coming act in the world of music, thier latest single “I Look To You” builds on this idea that simplicity is the key to a great tune and in this case it is.
