Snow Drift Love – Becoming Real (D/R/U/G/S Low Revolution remix)

23 Apr

You remember my Archive series? I was enjoying my little ride there, but unfortunately that had to be cancelled prematurely. Orders from the top you see, confidential stuff, all hush-hush. With that interlude over, let’s segue into this actual content: when you get Becoming Real and D/R/U/G/S on one track you know there’s going to be an upbeat ball of awesome:

Stay Gold (AraabMuzik, Danny Brown remix) – The Big Pink

8 Jan

Previously I had commented that Big Pink’s Stay Gold  had something obviously missing and positively rejoiced when I heard Hit The Ground. Well, fear no more, for this remix by AraabMuzik and Danny Brown (A remix within a remix? Remixception? You bet) fills what was once an empty track, peppering in catchy, Gambino-esque rap lyrics:

Dream On – Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

22 Nov

Orlando Higginbottom…Edmund Finnis…wait, who?! Oh, you mean Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs! Indeed, the memorable stage-name of these Oxford DJ dynamos sticks in the mind, and rightly so. Since rising from obscurity with the delectable duality of Garden, their latest track Dream On continues the eclectic mash-up of jungle/electro/dance, a very refreshing break from the usual bland club offerings:

Never Changing (Jay-Z & Coldplay) – Maludo

17 Aug

I found this gem the other day. Mash-Up fans pay attention because Maludo has worked some magic here, and created something awesome. Coldplay and Jay-Z get blended together to produce Never Changing, a relaxing product that will calmly lead you through any Sunday afternoon, or rainy day.

For whatever reason, I don’t really think anyone has picked up on this yet, but you most definitely should. Also, the news gets better, because it’s available to download free of charge, and you can do so by clicking here.

Party On The Floor – DJ Earworm

16 Jun

The man’s a genius. For the second year in a row, DJ Earworm has created an awesome mashup of all the artists that performed at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball. This is an awesome tune to bang out at all your parties, take a listen and let your jaw hit the floor:

Hopefully that will satisfy your mashup appetite as well as getting you off your feet and forcing you to have some fun. Two more things; one is that the song is available to download for free from here, and secondly, you should definitely check out the video:

Don’t Worry, I’m Yours – Mashup-Germany

3 Jun

I know these last few weeks might have been tough. Exams, or whatever is on your plate (I just had an hourlong chat in the park in which a friend shared the bad side of his relationship), at Can You Hear This, we’re here for you. Feast your ears on this feel good mashup from the master, Mashup-Germany. We haven’t had one in a while, and this is just perfect to break the duck:

Feel better now? Thought so. The main two songs in here are I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, and Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin. You’ll also hear hints of Dido’s Thank You, and No Air with Chris Brown and Jordin Sparks. Maybe the best part is that this song is available to download completely for free, if you click here. Also check out our birthday competition, and remember, it’ll all be fine.

Crazy In The Deep – Divide & Kreate

9 Mar

Rolling In The Deep by Adele has taken the UK by storm. One of England’s most exciting homegrown talents, the single was released on the 29th of November last year, and has gone on to be critically acclaimed by almost everyone who is lucky enough to listen to it. Personally, I love Adele because she can actually sing. There’s really no debating the fact that she has a mesmerising voice, and it’s great to see someone with huge natural talent being justly rewarded. To those of you who aren’t so keen on mash-ups, I’m sorry. I know that we seem to have gone a little bit mash-up mad at the moment, but I just had to post this.

We all remember Crazy by Gnarls Barclay. For a while that was the song. We heard it everywhere. Well, just sit back and gawk at how well Divide & Kreate have done to pick these two out and put them over each other. Pretty awesome huh? Drop us an email if you want the mp3, and we’ll try and sort you out. Also, if you haven’t heard the original Rolling In The Deep yet, here’s an awesome live performance by Adele:

Pandamonium – The White Panda

2 Mar

Yup, time to party again because our favourite mashup duo are back with an awesome third album, hot off the press (released yesterday). Pandamonium is a titanic 40-track party soundtrack, featuring a few standout combinations that I’m going to walk you through.

First of all, there’s Infinite Dream, which we already covered earlier. So that’s that one out of the way. Next up has to be Tinie Tempah’s combo with Sneaky Sound System. Like the other’s that The White Panda so often produce, it’s just a good, fun party song!

Another cool tune on the album is called Shake It To Me, which features Ian Carey, Timbaland, and Nelly Furtado. This one’s unfortunately only 53 seconds long, but when it gets into the real thing, it’s a great tune.

If this next track doesn’t put a smile on your face, then I’m pretty sure there’s nothing that anyone can do for you. I Want Brooklyn Back features Jay-Z and the Jackson 5. With the Jackson’s backing, it’s almost impossible to sound bad, but Jay-Z actually adds a great touch.

Now I’ll be honest. I hate the original of Like A G6. But The White Panda save it for me with their awesome tune Why A G6? It’s the Far East Movement’s unimaginative song set to a great backing my Supermode, and you gotta hear it:

Don’t get me wrong, this whole album is packed full of tracks that will make your party. It’s just… there are 40 of them, so I had no choice but to give you my personal highlights. The idea with this album is that you’re supposed to play it all the way through, and each song plays into one another. That’s partly why these tracks here don’t really fully do it justice. And that’s the reason you should download it totally for free from here.

My Bitter Cheap Symphony (Still Sweet) – Mashup-Germany

10 Feb

We all love a good mash-up. All our favourite songs rolled into one? Who wouldn’t go crazy for that? And so in honour of this, here’s something new from Mashup-Germany. The man has amazingly managed to roll SEVEN songs into one huge eargasm:

The songs included are (deep breath):

Bitter Sweet Symphony – The Verve
Ridin’ Solo – Jason Derulo
Airplanes – B.O.B. feat. Hayley Williams
What’s Up – 4 Non Blondes
Never Forget – Take That
Replay – Iyaz
Chasing Cars – Snow Patrol

So hopefully you can handle that, and if you’ve really taken to it, you’ll be overjoyed to know that you can download it for free by clicking here! Aren’t we nice?

Infinite Dream – The White Panda

4 Feb

Ahead of the release of The White Panda’s new album, they’ve dropped a little preview. Just as Guru Josh Project’s hit was starting to fade from the memory a little bit, this duo have given it a shockingly good revival. The tune mashes Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream with Infinity. This one has to get you up and dancing, it’s a real party song. Smack this on, and enjoy your new reputation as ‘that cool kid who has the tunes.’ They’re also giving it away totally for free, so click here to download it!

The guys are also doing a pretty cool thing where they’re giving a lucky fan a chance to name their new album, so if you’re interested in getting a little fame (who wouldn’t be?) then head on over to their official site and submit your ideas.
