Babylon – David Gray

19 Aug

To celebrate the release of David Gray’s ninth studio album, Foundling, we’re reminiscing about the good old days of White Ladder, which was released in 1998. The version we’re giving you isn’t the album version, and although it’s a little different, it’s still a classic.

Nice one David! A lot of the other songs on this album are very similar, because back then, Mr Gray was obsessed with his acoustic guitar. Well, guess what, it looks like it worked because many people say this is the album that launched David Gray. This version of the song has some strings in it which work really well, and make the song sound more complete.

It wasn’t until later that David Gray began using computer generated sounds to accompany the sound of his voice, and acoustic guitar playing.

Here’s an awesome live performance of this song if your appetite still isn’t fully satisfied, oh and don’t forget to check out his official site for news of his new album, Foundling.
